Montgomeryville wildlife control tip of the month:

How to Get Rid of Foxes

Despite being cute and nice, foxes can cause a lot of Montgomeryville animal control damage to people and their property. Farmers often have problems with them when they hunt their chicken. They can also be found savaging through trash in urban areas and can be carriers of diseases. Nevertheless, they are excellent in Montgomeryville exterminator pest control, since most of their prey is animals that humans have problems with in gardens and yards. Foxes can easily make a den beside your house, so you have to remove all sites they can use for that purpose. Trash like old tires, piles of trash or wood are excellent places for them to move in. Also, you should reduce their sources of food around your house like dog or cat food, pests and so on.

People sometimes turn to Montgomeryville animal trapping repellents to get rid of them, which is not such a good idea. Deterrents like ultrasonic devices produce noise foxes supposedly cannot stand, but that has never been proven to work. Ammonium, citronella and methyl based deterrents, cat litter, human clothes are also things people use, but also not very successfully. Some say scaring those helps, so security lights, motion sensor alarms, putting radios around and making a lot of noise can sometimes be useful. Natural deterrents can sometimes do the trick like predator urine (bear, coyote, and cougar) and even human urine is good enough. Securing places where they can enter is a reasonable solution, but make sure they are out before you do that. Building fences works well, and a fence should be at least 5 and a half feet above ground with the top 12 inches at an outward angle, and buried also at an angle. Putting electricity through the fence also helps. Getting a guard animal can be very useful, so having a big dog around can scare them away.

Other Montgomeryville wildlife removal measures people take to get rid of them are live or lethal traps. Live traps have to be very big (42x15x15) in order to catch one. They must be washed to remove your scent. You should toss bait around the trap for a couple of day for them to get used to it. After that place bait inside and you will catch the fox. Make sure there are no young foxes left when you catch the mother because they will die and start to stink. Shooting them is also a Montgomeryville pest control option, but you have to be careful.
