and removal. We offer a variety of services, from animal damage repair to waste cleanup, dead animal removal and odor control, and more. We handle several nuisance wildlife
species, including squirrels, raccoons, snakes, skunks, and opossums. We also perform bat removal and bird control services, and rodent control, including poison-free mouse and
rat removal. Give us a call any time at 215-874-6600 to discuss your Plymouth Meeting animal control issue, and to schedule a fast appointment.
Plymouth Meeting wildlife control tip of the month:
How to Remove a Wild Animal in the Chimney
If you are hearing strange noises coming from your chimney, it most definitely isn’t a ghost of some old chimney
sweeper, but you might have a Plymouth Meeting pest control problem. There are all sorts of animals that end up there for any reason. They
might be looking for a way to get into the house, use the chimney to make their dens or nests, or they might fall
in there by accident. In any Plymouth Meeting animal control case, you should deal with it right away.
There is one Plymouth Meeting wildlife removal thing you should avoid at any cost: do not try to smoke the animal out! You will only burn or kill it
and then you will have an even bigger problem. Animals enter chimneys because they resemble hollow trees and seem as
good places to settle there. If you have an animal in the chimney, you should determine whether it is trapped there or
it wants to settle. You can determine that by the noises the animal produces there. An animal that did not want to be
there and is injured will scratch, flap wings and make unpleasant noises looking for help. Animals with dens inside
chimneys will produce less noise, mostly by moving around or you will hear the young calling their mother.
If you have an animal in the chimney and it is not stuck but made a den, you should keep the damper closed and you
should put a radio in or beside the fireplace. Also, put ammonia near the damper. Use all that just before dusk because
most creatures move around at night. Once the animal is out, call a chimney sweep to clean it and to install a stainless
steel Plymouth Meeting animal trapping chimney cap to prevent any other animal from entering.
If an animal is stuck there, you will have to help it get out. Squirrels can get stuck, and once that happens, the best
Plymouth Meeting exterminator thing to do is to put the rope down all the way for the squirrel to climb up. If the squirrel is in the fireplace, trapping
them is the best thing to do. Place a live trap there with peanut butter. When you get rid of the squirrel, put a chimney
cap on top and cut all tree branches reaching the roof. Get rid of birds in the chimney by closing the damp so it falls into
the fireplace. Once there, place a cloth on it and take it out.
