Willow Grove wildlife control tip of the month:

How to Get Rid of Coyotes

Coyotes can cause Willow Grove animal control trouble sometimes if they are found to hunt sheep or chickens. Safety of children can sometimes be a concern when there are coyotes, and they are known to be carriers of some diseases. So therefore, measures to get rid of them sometimes have to be made. If their territory gets smaller, their interaction with humans will increase as is the case in many areas. Their howls can be very loud in the night and they can make a mess overturning garbage cans.

The best Willow Grove pest control way to keep them away is to remove their sources of food. Secure your garbage cans, stop feeding your cats and dogs outside, reduce the number of rodents and they can even hunt domestic cats. Another thing to do is to cut the grass and bushes in your yard.

Fences are an excellent Willow Grove wildlife removal choice, and net wire fences and electric fences are good to keep them away. Coyotes hunt during the night, so keep your sheep and chickens in corrals where coyotes cannot enter. They should also be lighted to scare them away. Other things that scare coyotes away are bells and radios, vehicles, propane exploders which produce a loud sound in intervals, and there are electronic guards that have motion sensors and they produce loud sirens sounds and lights that scare them away. People even put collars on their livestock which contain poison that can kill the coyote, but that is not advisable to use since it is not humane and can harm other creatures.

Trapping is another method you can use. They do not have a large Willow Grove animal trapping area where they move during spring or summer, but during winter, it increases. Trapping one can be a very frightening experience for them, so they will avoid places where they were trapped. Traps have to be placed on the paths they usually follow, old roads are a good choice. Traps have to be very quick to catch them. They also must not be lethal since they can kill other animals in the area, some of them protected. Traps may have a flat metal or rubber jaw which will trap them, but not kill them. Some coyotes will gnaw of their foot when they are trapped, so using Willow Grove exterminator traps is not always humane. Shooting them is also an option, but not a good one. It is time consuming, inhumane and can be dangerous for you and others.
